THE ARTS PNEUMONIA
INFORMATION FOR CONTRIBUTORS
www.myspace.com/theartspneumonia
In order to to maintain an interesting and varied content, we always have an ongoing open call for submissions.
Issue five deadline : March 27th (March 1st for creative writing pieces (this gives us time to have them illustrated))
Please bear in mind that we handle a large amount of submissions, whilst we endeavour to reply to every contributor, this process can sometimes take a long time, so please be patient. Also bear in mind that we need to make appropriate combinations of work for any given issue. If we don't use your work in one issue we may well use it in the next publication.
Procedures for visual submissions:
Please send us a link to the work if its online (like photobucket, myspace or any website). Failing that, please email a low quality Jpeg. This is so we don't have to download to many files etc. Please email these to theartspneumonia@yahoo.co.uk . You can also post us a disk (please ask for an address)
We will then contact you when/if we decide to use your work requesting higher quality images and any further info.
We print in black and white, so you might want to consider this when thinking what to send us. We understand that this is problematic for many artists whose work features colour, but on the plus side it means we can afford larger print runs and more people will get to see your work.
We always have a number of creative writing pieces we would like illustrations made for, let us know if you1re interested in being assigned one.
We print some work unaccompanied but we encourage artists to write something about their work, telling us what they believe in and what they think is important in art.
Procedures for written submissions:
Written submissions should be attached as either a word or apple works file. They should also be pasted into the body of the email (again so we don't need to download it until we are ready. )
We accept creative writing and most arts related articles and reviews. But we especially like articles by contributors about what they really feel passionate about in the arts, issues they have with the art world, opinions about other art and art groups.
We also have a list of galleries/shows we want reviews written about so please let us know if you would like to be assigned one.
We also would like some music film and theatre pieces written.
Pneumonia is a not-for-profit , self published, artist run zine/journal, we regret that we cannot offer payment to contributors at this time.
